Precast Solutions

Prestressed Concrete

For decades, engineers and contractors have trusted Waskey for custom, complex precast. Prestressed concrete is the natural next step in Waskey’s evolution—and we didn’t take it lightly. The capability was built from the ground up: an in-house engineering team with hands-on prestress experience, advanced 3D modeling, a rigorous quality control program, proven logistics, and the yard capacity to deliver at scale. This expansion was driven by client demand and backed by the infrastructure to meet it.

The Prestressed Advantage

Prestressing introduces a calculated precompression force into the concrete member before it ever sees a live load. That effective prestress counteracts tensile stresses under service conditions, improving serviceability, controlling crack width, and enabling longer clear spans with shallower, more efficient  sections. Ideal for bridges, rail, industrial platforms, marine structures, and wall systems.

Benefits of Prestressed Concrete:

Performance

  • Long-span structural efficiency
  • Enhanced load-carrying capacity
  • Greater clear spans achieved with less steel

Durability

  • Better crack control
  • Stronger performance in corrosive/ high-moisture environments
  • Engineered to account for prestress losses and maintain long-term stability.

Execution

  • Simplified preliminary design through published span-load tables
  • Faster installation
  • Reduced onsite construction time
  • Calculated camber for deflection control

Specifications

  • Designed and fabricated in compliance with ACI/PCI 319-25, the new joint code unifying precast and prestressed concrete design standards
  • Utilizes ASTM A416 specification for low-relaxation, seven-wire steel strand
  • Fabricated products tailored to tolerances of PCI MNL116 and Waskey’s PCI approved Quality Systems Manual.
