Waskey was engaged to design and fabricate a modular trough spill containment system for an LNG facility in the Southern United States. Waskey worked with the client to meet an aggressive, condensed schedule by optimizing production crews. The system was designed with a unique lightweight structural concrete mix to reduce dead weight on a steel support structure. The troughs were lined with Waskey’s proprietary cryogenic insulation panels. The design incorporated stainless steel tie-in points to steel modules. The troughs also included slip joints providing 3” of axial movement per joint.
